BCF Relaunches its Manifesto for the Coatings Sector

Back in December, at a reception in the House of Commons, BCF launched its Essential Coatings Report and a companion Manifesto for the Coatings Sector. While the former document focussed on explaining how critical coatings are to UK industry, the economy and even wider society, the Manifesto proposed five broad asks for Government to ensure the sector continues to thrive in future.

With the General Election now underway, BCF has decided to refresh its call for whoever forms the next Government to deliver in the following five areas:

1. A proportionate, clear, and consistent regulatory environment for chemicals.
2. An industrial strategy to support manufacturing.
3. Support for businesses to make the transition to a more sustainable UK.
4. Long-term focus on skills and training.
5. Improving post-Brexit trade.
